It's a Wonderful Life

What a great Christmas!! We had such a good time at Avery's school play. she was a lamb (and the sweetest one--although I am biased), went to the Hornbacks for Christmas Eve, celebrated Christmas morning at our house and then went to my parents for Christmas Day. The kids had a blast and so did we. Now the task of taking down all the decorations--but I'm excited about 2009. It's always nice to get a fresh start. I hope everyone has a peaceful and joyful New Year!!

Yesterday was John Parker's party at school. I helped coordinate it with a couple of other moms. It was fun, but I was pooped! They made really cute Santa ornaments for the craft and boy do they LOVE to use LOTS OF GLUE!! haha. Thanks to John Bret for helping me haul everything in and set-up......

Ho Ho Uh-oh!!

Here are the infamous 2008 Santa pics. Avery may be scarred for life!

City of Lights

We went to Canton's Victorian Christmas Village last night. It was alot of fun. The weather was nice and we rode the carousel, cars and the horse and buggy. The town square is really a beautiful sight with all the white lights. I also ran into my 1st grade teacher--Mrs. Brown. We got a few good pics and John Parker took the one of me and John Bret. I thought it turned out pretty well!!

Elfie

Have you heard about the Elf on a Shelf? It's a book about one of Santa's scout elves that comes and watches you during the day and then flies off at night to tell Santa whether you've been naughty or nice. The set comes with the book and the elf. I just went out and got it last week and John Parker and Avery love it. John Parker named him Jeffrey and then changed it to Elfie. They can't wait to get up every morning and see where Elfie "landed" after his trip to the North Pole. It's been so much fun for me and John Bret to watch their excited faces every morning when they find Elfie. It's also been fun finding a new place to put him every night, although I almost broke my neck a couple of times climbing on countertops!!

Santa Baby

I took John Parker and Avery to see Santa Saturday afternoon at Highland Village. From the moment Santa came out, Avery said "no" and clung to me. She wouldn't let me put her down. When it was our turn, she started crying and screaming--wouldn't even get close to him. So, John Parker had his picture made with Santa instead. Avery did wave and say Bye to him when it was time to go. I managed to get a few shots of them when we got home......

Martha Stewart Wannabe

I had a pumpkin topiary in a pot outside the front door for Halloween through Thanksgiving. The pumpkins were still in good shape and I hated to throw them away, so I made a snowman out of them. It turned out pretty cute. I wasn't too sure it would!

Hotty Toddy!

Well, the Rebs pulled off the biggest Egg Bowl upset in the last 30 years--beating MSU 45-0. I was really happy about the win, but did hate that State's Seniors had to suffer such a bad loss. The Rebels only allowed 37 TOTAL yards. Wow...... We had a really good time. It was nice to be in the Grove and actually be able to move and see what was going on. The campus and Oxford have changed so much. Thanks to Joseph and Jessie for a great time!

The Huntress

John Bret and I went hunting Wednesday evening and I shot my first deer. I really had hoped for a buck, but maybe next time. We had a really nice time and I was really excited (mostly about the jalapeno cheese sausage I'll be eating soon!!) I might be a redneck.....
